Well... a little about me, that's hard to sum up in a short space. So I think I'll just spread it out and take you along. I am 30 years old, I have worked on the Internet as a "webmaster" for over 8 years. I have done everything from webdesign to banner building to S.E.O. I have sold products on the Internet in the past but I mainly stick to traffic and ad revenue now as well as domaining. I own and run a local city directory in Boerne Texas. It is a free open directory project for citizens who live, work or worship in and around Boerne and the Texas Hill Country. I started this site as a way to give back. My mother taught me that it is important to contribute to your community. I own a house in Boerne, I grew up in Boerne and my daughter loves her summers with her grandparents in Boerne. Why not share it with the rest of the world? Although I travel a lot and live/work out of my new 23' FunFinder X230DS, Boerne, Texas is always my home and I strive to provide quality targeted traffic to all the South Texas web site owners who need help getting their site seen. I can provide your site with banner impressions, text ads, search engine optimization and Google Adword Campaigns. |

Get your kicks on Route 66! The historic Route 66. My first time on it and what a ride. One of the many advantages of traveling is seeing where we came from, you know the history behind the great U.S of A. As I drive through some of these small towns across the New Mexico area I can't help but notice that some of these "ghost towns" look to be only a few decades old. Run down gas stations, drive thru hamburger joints, flower shops and so on. I wonder what these people were thinking when they opened their doors for the grand opening and how bad it must of felt when they had to turn around and close them. I drove through ten towns I won't stop in. No place to park the rig, roads so bad just getting through them would be a blessing. No real life in peoples eyes. I felt sad to look around and see that some folks were using used truck tires off the highway to hold their roofs down from the high winds and dust storms. Almost forgot I was in America. Praise GOD for what I have in my life. I know I couldn't go half the distance without Him. |
BoerneSearch.com has gone 100% GREEN with the addition of two 15 watt solar panels, two Grp-24 and two Grp-29 deep cycle batteries and a 7 Amp Solar Charge Controller to prevent battery overcharge. I have two more of these 15 watt solar panels on the way. This will make 60 watts of solar energy. The two I have now will do just fine down here in the south but it won't do too well up in Portland, Oregon. I am also considering a small wind turbine for the days when we have just wind and no sun. Although you would be surprised to see how much power you can generate on a cloudy day. Free electricity is the best way to go. Well, from this point on it's free, set up was a bit costly but it will be well worth it in the long run. I hope ;), Notice the Electric Pole in the reflection :). |

A very proud day and a great reason to head to the coast. The Gulf Coast that is. My little brother graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville. What a genius! He picked a great school for engineering and it's only 20 minutes from the beach. I have to hand it to him, what a great man he will turn into. All my brothers with me (Neil, Chelo and Nate) in the ocean and my new little niece with my sister Mary. I could not have asked for a better day. The birds were wild as ever and I had a whole loaf of old bread that brought them right over. Believe me when I tell you there is no Sea Gull hurting for food out there right now. I hope I am not adding to the problem. There were no signs saying not to feed them. But Mary wishes there would have been. Kirsten however loved it, me too!Congratulations to Chelo. I Love You Man! |
After a short hot summer beginning in Boerne I decided to stop by best friend Tommy's house in Phoenix to play some catch up. It had been about year since I had been to Phoenix to visit and with Tommy having a new niece as well I thought I should stop by and see how things were going. He is a grown man so I don't need to worry too much, lol. We visited with his sister Crystal and her better half Patrick for a little while to meet and play with her two beautiful children Landon and Caylee. "Tattoo" better known as Tommy is an awesome uncle. On my stay I also got to visit with my new "Grandparents", they are really Katie's grandparents but they have always supported us in all our crazy decisions and have helped us too many times to count. I had the best pasta and home made sauce for dinner and all I brought them was a lousy mug! Really, the mug read "My friend came all the way from San Antonio Texas and all he brought me was this lousy mug." They are two of the most kind hearted people on the face of this earth. It was a very nice evening and I look forward to my trip back. You can't tell by the photo but it was almost 110 degrees outside Tommy's house (the News reported it at only 100). |

After
leaving Nate and Mary's house I went into Utah up towards Salt Lake City,
but before I got there somewhere on US-6 I came around a mountain and
found myself eye level with a Wind Turbine. This is not the first time
I have seen one, we have Wind Farms all over West Texas. But this was
the first time I was so close to one. I was in shock. The turbine was
so huge it was breath taking. I knew they were big, I just never realized
it was so big being up close and personal. The road went in such a manner
that it almost felt like I was going to drive right into it. I was so
amazed I pulled right over to take a picture. I knew this was something
I had to share. You can see a few more in the back ground, but they're
were alot more around. This was a great spot for a Wind Farm. I could
tell because I had to slow down to about forty miles an hour, the travel
trailer was all over the place. I was in no hurry and my saying is "slow
and steady". Moma always said "better safe then sorry"
and I have found that Mom is always right. Mad props to Utah for doing
their part in "Going Green" it helps the enviroment and it's
one of my favorite hobbies, trying to get others to do their part. We
need to take care of Mother Earth as she has taken care of us.

The Multnomah Falls was a very beautiful place to visit. Here there is a legend of great courage, love and sorrow. It is said that all the guest of this Indian tribue who visited the land for a wedding all grew very sick with death to follow. A great medicine man said the Great Spirit would send a sickness upon our people. All would die, he said, unless a sacrifice was made to the Great Spirit. Some pure and innocent maiden of the tribe, the daughter of a chief, must willingly give her life for her people. The Chief of the tribue said he would not force any of the maidens to preform such act since he wasn't sure it would work. He had only one daugher, losing all his sons in battle. When the daughter of the Chief saw her lover grow sick with the illness she cooled his hot face, cared for him tenderly, and left a bowl of water by his bedside. Then she slipped away alone, without a word to anyone. She climbed to the top of the mountain and asked the Great Spirits for a token to prove that what she was about to do would saticife them. Just then she saw the moon coming up over the trees across the river. It was the token. She closed her eyes and jumped from the cliff. Next morning, all the people who had expected to die that day arose from their beds well and strong. They were full of joy. Once more there was laughter in the village and in the camps of the guest. It's a great story you can read more on it at here. After the full hike Paige and I went a little way off the path where there were some public restrooms. There was a slight spring flowing in the walkway. It was there I found the biggest slug I had ever seen. It looked a little creepy. So I just had to take a picture of it. (bottom right hand corner) It was a very, very slimy slug and very fat. One of the craziest things I saw out there. The place was a very beautiful, fun place to visit. You can see we took a copy of The Hill Country Weekly :) |
